Background
Education
Kelley Dockray began her educational journey at Texas Tech University, where she received her Bachelor's degree and secondary teaching certificate. During her fifth year of teaching, she received her Master's degree in Educational Administration at Sam Houston State University.
Professional Experience
Kelley Dockray has twelve years of experience in educational leadership at the secondary level, specifically in the roles of academic dean, instructional coach, and educational consultant. This background has given her the opportunity to lead teams of instructional coaches at the campus and district level, as well as train and coach educational leaders.
Services
Curriculum and Assessment Creation, Implementation, Elevation, and Revision
KD Academics has led secondary district teams through the learning and writing process around long-term development of an entirely new English curriculum…from the construction of unit overviews that align to the new state standards and the district year-long progressions to the creation of creative, authentic literacy assessments.
During the development of curriculum, Kelley Dockray integrates her extensive training background in the work from experts Grant Wiggins, Jay McTighe, Jim Knight, Marie Alcock, and Heidi Hayes Jacobs.
Leadership Support
Guiding and supporting instructional coaches, academy principals, and district leaders in advancing PLCs and classroom instructional practices through targeted professional development, on-site coaching, and learning walks with pre- and post-conference modeling.
Instructional Coaching
KD Academics offers support for districts who need a leadership/instructional coach on a consulting basis. We also offer support in implementing and/or maintaining an instructional coaching program at the campus or district level.
